The Greystone Project offers an environment for explorations of space, design and art – continuing to build upon the rich legacy of creative, intellectual and cultural experiences within the Bronzeville community. The Artist Residency Program serves as an intellectual incubator to cultivate identity and accomplishments for emerging African American Women architects, designers, visual artists and writers to perform at their highest professional capacity. The Residency Program offers the benefit of time, space, and collaboration and serves as a substantive segment towards establishing a professional practice.
The Greystone Artist Apartments & Studios is an environment fueled by interdisciplinary collaboration and critical thinking between Artist Salon members and Artist Residency recipients. Advanced Professional – Artist Salon Scholars provide creative dialogue nurtured through mentoring and critiques to refine and expand professional visions for Artist Residency recipients. An understanding of the way Artist Salon practitioners think and create introduces new ideas and processes relevant to current and future work for Artist Residency recipients. The Artist Residency Program is designed as a cultural FORUM, a collaborative platform to lift the careers of the most promising and gifted creative African American Women practitioners in the first half of the 21st Century.
